A good photographer can take brilliant photographs with a disposible camera, a bad photographer will still take rubbish photographs with a top end DSLR. :)

Skunk, all that you have presented above is one interpretation based on things we know about the history of the Canaanite people. This proposition posits that the history the Bible describes is not factually based, but a reinterpretation.What I have presented above are acknowledged facts and clear inferences which are drawn from the text of the Old Testament itself. Each one of those at the very least brings into question how the religious beliefs of the Hebrews as a whole differed from those of their polytheistic contemporaries, especially in the period before 580BCE. Abraham may have made a covenant, but it was not with Jehovah, it was with El. It says so in the bible. So much of the mythology, Noah/Utnapishtim, etc., is taken directly from other sources that it really beggars belief to treat the story of the Hebrew god(s) as anything other than a continuation of previous beliefs and story-cycles.

To all those cutting military by huge percentages, what are your plans to deal with the millions of unemployed that would produce?
Where my budget is concerned, since I am not only cutting but also investing in forward looking projects/industries and also increasing student funding support, military personnel retired from active duty could find employment in the new jobs that would be created that way or go get higher education through the GI bill which now has more fund available along with hopefully reduced tuitions thanks to my investment in education. As for the defense contractors, part of their business would be salvaged through my increased investment in NASA where propulsion technology is concerned, also a rump business of supplying a reduced military would remain, I also continue to invest moneys into nuclear technology as I do believe in the nuclear deterrent. They also would have new markets with my spending increase in domestic security. That wouldn't cover all of it, not by far actually but then business models need to evolve in a free market if they want to survive. And if Israel et al. can't afford to take care of their own ****, well too bad. If people get laid of in the defense industry, well again, I am investing in forward looking projects that should in the short to mid terms create a new job boom.
My budget fixes the deficit not through across the board cutting but through fixing the income base of government by bringing taxes for the extremely wealthy back to appropriate levels and cutting subsidies for industries and countries that don't need it and/or don't deserve it.

If after all this speculation and anticipation that a Core 2 Duo MBP will/should be coming out in the next couple of week, Apple then were to decide to make us macbook pro people wait even longer in the wake of new iMac, iPod, nano, etc. announcements, I would be supremely annoyed. Yet, through all my frustration I would simply have to toss my head back and laugh. Predicting what move Apple will make next is like hunting the ever elusive snipe.
Still, here's hoping for C2D MBP in the next couple of weeks. :)

Anyways, I reccomend people use this firmware instead of geting their heatsink replaced. The later option involves an ugly screw in the middle of your macbook.

...I can tell you as someone who works with hackers (half of my buddies are at BlackHat this week) that OS X is NOT inherently secure, and that there are plenty of vulnerabilities that surface on it that are well-known in the "hacker" community long before they are made "public," and also long before they are also repaired by Apple.
OS X is definitely inherently more secure than Windows, but the near-complete lack of viruses/use of other exploits for them is definitely not because they are ironclad in terms of security. That should be abundantly clear from a cursitory reading of the kbase article on the latest security update. Many of those fixes were to rootkit holes! As in, god-sized sized security holes...
I've always told, or at least tried to say, that Macs were more secure than Windows and did not have the same vulnerabilities, nor the number of viruses and other associated bits of malware. Macs are immune to many things, but you're absolutely right, they're not invulnerable.
One thing to note is this particular vulnerability also affects Windows, so if we're still comparing the two against each other this vulnerability doesn't exactly tip the scales.

Not so much about the data caps. There's no choice with many service providers. AT&T's data plan with the iPad for one example.
Without being too argumentative, the problem is people want a specific device and unlimited data. You can get unlimited data in a number of ways - just not necessarily with a specific device.
More to the point, I think it's just Full of Win mentioning that it's not a very ideal solution for those in Adobe's demographic. Which is a point we can discuss. I personally feel they've got it right, but I doubt there will be any substantial market for renting the full on suites when buying them outright ends up being a cheaper/more convenient option.

a) You have the latest version at a known fixed cost
b) As a lease, rather than buy, it becomes tax deductible in full with no depreciation
c) If you only use some apps infrequently, it may be cheaper than a full suite
So it may make sense for some companies and or individuals.

Charging decisions are made by people, including police and prosecutors. A discussion about the likelihood of committing a crime is only about claims about racial differences. I'm not aware of any legitimate study that any race is more or less likely to commit crimes.

Just because the crime statistics of a limited geographic area don't fit your world of political correctness, it doesn't mean they are incorrect as in inconsistent with reality.

Ohhh, I get it. Trust me. But there's more to "it" than just a 3-paragraph overview of the entire way the US decides to do business. I think a high percentage of Americans will agree that the business models (taxes, outsourcing, low US manufacturing, unions, wages, health benefits, etc) are basically killing our way of life.
Maybe in 10-15 years the US will finally realize how much damage has been done and will start to get back in shape.
