    For those wanting retina displays:
No modern GPU can display anything past 2560x1600 on a single screen.

    Please

Do you mean they lack the power or that its not a selectable option? They have the power, have had it for years. Dual 2560x1600 screen setups off one graphics card is easily attainable.

Not to mention, operating a phone while driving is becoming illegal in most states due to distracted driving. I figure there would be a bunch of drunk people using this app while driving drunk? Geez.

I got an idea...what about an app that tells ME where the drunk drivers are so I can stay away from THEM?

I stop reading everything you said after this statement. You are clueless dude. Go back to school or finish school or jsut stop typing.

I have a job, a wife and a kid and you want me to go back to school when I graduated college five years ago? All because I said to buy an adapter that WILL be cheap when/if it's necessary to have one?

Whatever helps you feel like you're more accomplished. ;)

So the theory they seem to be positing here is that most of the former Symbian users are going to become Windows Mobile users. If you look at the market share figures they show Windows climbing to the 20.9% share that Symbian currently has and Symbian largely ceasing to exist.

The reality is that the OS of phones is becoming the key differentiator. You decide iPhone, Android, or Windows, and then from there you decide the specific hardware you want to run. Nobody is going to be looking for a Nokia phone specifically and then just taking whatever OS it runs.

So if you assume that Android, iOS and Windows are all equal competitors, then figure, at most, Windows is going to take 1/3rd of the market from former Symbian users. Those users will be looking at three OS's that are all completely different from Symbian, so there's no reason to believe they'd have any particular loyalty to the Windows mobile OS because of former Symbian use on a Nokia phone.

They seem to predict that, instead, about 75% of the Symbian users go to Windows mobile. I find that highly unlikely.

Make it thinner and lighter like the Macbook Air and I'd be sold. It'll basically be a more powerful and more functional Macbook Air. I'd take it!

I think this is totally feasible, but one question that many of you haven't addressed is: "Do you see this interaction and interface happening for the Windows users?"

I know we're all Apple fans here, but in order for the iTunes Movie Store to be successful, it will have to include "them."

    w00master

that's the question of course :) maybe it will be the killer application to convert windows users to mac :p

or windows users can connect their pc's to a tv with a few cables, so that they also can play the movies from the movie store on their tv's… but in that case the pc must be next to the tv.

Which is probably why they sued. Knowing they are running out of cash, they figured "Let's jump on the bandwagon and sue someone".

If you believe that, then please give me a valid reason why Apple settled for 100 million...

So, AFTER paying 30% in federal and state income taxes, whatever percentage in sales and property tax, you are still able give away an additional 50% or more to charity? So you are able to live on like 3% of your earnings? I would LOVE to be in that position! It's very admirable, but hardly reachable for the average person. I try to give whenever I can, but I can admit that's it's usually around $2k a year.

Actually, it is far more likely that they donate from pre-tax earnings, then use those donations to reduce their tax burden. The end result being a net tax rate of something like the 17-25% most high income taxpayers pay.

So does turning of Locations Services stop the data collection, or just stop applications from accessing it?

Does turning of Location services delete data already in the file?

I guess it works both ways, if accused of a crime you didn't commit, bring your phone to work and prove you were not their. And if you are going to commit a crime, leave your phone at home.

No one has stated if it does or doesn't. Until someone states what happens we can only go with the SLA.

It's only fantasy because not enough law-abiding civilians are toting guns.

Virginia Tech, Trolley Square, Columbine, Ft. Hood, the list goes on and on - someone trained, armed, and on location in any of those tragedies could have been a godsend.

The fact an off-duty policeman was onsite at Trolley Square certainly saved many lives, but an armed, trained civilian could have done the same.

    +1

Criminals have the edge because they know most law abiding citizens are not armed.

If you're like me, you don't have your Mac right next to your TV. Not only would I have to string a DVI/HDMI cable aaaall the way across the room, I would also have to get an equally long digital audio cable. Probably end up costing about the same as a video AirPort Express (if they keep the prices the same) but with the added hassle of getting those cables across the room.

This would be a lot less expensive than buying a Mac mini, especially if you already have a powerful desktop just waiting to play some HD videos...

I see your point but I do not yet see HD over 802.11g. Maybe with some new codex and some decoding on the device, but I still don't think so. Come on Apple make a believer out of me.

    Don't pull it!!!!!

I'm NOT in favor of drinking and driving, but I am in favor of freedom. I don't like the idea of ANY government control over things like this. Too many darn laws to begin with.

I downloaded this app. It's pretty cool! The DUI thing is like the least useful. There is all sorts of good traffic info on this app. Love it!

just encoded 5 secs of video using the quicktime default export for ipod... now the default is 640 x 480 that plays too. Please explain exactly how from where you did that. I am still trying with handbrake and EyeTV. The EyeTV2 export is supposed to be connected to the QuickTime but the iPod default is not H.264 640x480 in the EyetV2 Export windows.

There are a lot of sound business reasons for Apple to release an iPhone. But the biggest reason is that Steve must have a cell phone and you know he probably hates the industrial design and functionality.

I agree. That's our steve all right :D

I live in Nevada and honestly the cops spend more time Giving tickets out then doing real police work. Since the state has been financial hardship, The cops are out drumming up business. Honestly, do you think someone who is Drunk is going to be checking the app for the checkpoints? Its just an excuse to get rid of these apps from the store and increase revenue. Apple dont bend to the pressure, These apps do not break any rules for the App store and if you start letting the Government decide what should and shouldnt be, is the day I finally Jailbreak my Iphone.

My God, jailbreak your phone anyway....it's fantastic!
