How can this get negative votes? In fact, how do a lot of perfectly benign threads get negative votes? Are there just members out there who vote negative on everything?It could be the fact that the 8-core Mac Pro butchered the iTunes encoding and Quake 4 test? I'm shocked myself that Mac Pro tied for the lowest score in the iTunes test.

I'd be shocked if we saw Merom based Minis before Merom based MBP and MB.. maybe a Core Duo upgrade, to hold us over? A price drop and high speed Yonah?

Undercover agents? LOL WTF is this, Russia House? I'm pretty sure they're "UNDERCOVER", meaning, tracking them would be useless, since there is nothing advertising their personal information. All anyone would get is random location data that could belong to anyone.
A guy in your terrorist cell claims he's not FBI, because he's never been to Washington DC. Even his phone contacts are all people nowhere near there. Yet what if his cache list says otherwise. He's probably dead.

They just pulled it off their website a few minutes ago but it was a photo of the wireless iPod!

Rentals are definitely the way to go. I've only seen the Lost episodes I've downloaded once. They're just eating space on my hardrive. And if there were streaming theatrical releases, well, I'd be in heaven. I'm pissed that A Scanner Darkly isn't playing in my area, but I've watched the first 25 min. at IGN.com in HD. I'd definitely spend $1.99 to escape expensive tickets and annoying people.
According to MOSR, (:rolleyes: ) 10.5 will include some sort of "rewards-based" BitTorrent system. (:rolleyes: ) But if the Movie store also used bittorrent, it would make more sense to announce it at WWDC.

No you forgot that when you drag to trash you have to open the trash application and empty the trash to completely remove the app. Don't forget that sometimes putting apps in the trash and removing it doesn't remove some files that the app contains that would still stay on the computer.
Hopefully this new iOS app deletion that they are bringing to the mac would COMPLETELY remove the app and files that goes along with it.

Diesel is still noisy and stinky though! Every time I am in my car and a diesel goes infront I can smell it and it kinda hurts my nose as it "smells hot" if u know what I mean :confused:
Plus my 2T petrol has just as much or more torque than a diesel and has double the horsepower :D

Some people have recognised that the reference to G5 relates to the exterior design, not the chips inside.
Other people have figured out that the reference to "G5" is a mistaken label for the exterior design, you mean. "G5" refers to the processor, not the design. This design is going to be around for quite a while, I think; the most likely change will be to get rid of the "chin" when they are able to do so.

Most likely it would work exactly like how a normal streamed QuickTime movie downloads. It buffers for a few minutes, and then you can start watching it, and it downloads in the background, and saves it to file letting you watch it again for X times/days. This is exactly how Movielink works.

I've never steamed any content that would even approximate the length of a hollywood movie, with the possible exception of S. Jobs keynotes. So far, H264 seems to serve those very well. I'm not so sure that is true. I was teaching an elderly person how to drag and drop a file into a folder and the whole drag and drop concept did not seem all that easy to her. She kept releasing the mouse button too early, not dropping it in the right place, and not waiting long enough to release the button once she did hover over it. Dragging from a folder to a trash icon in a different location (which may even be set to autohide) seems quite a bit more difficult to do than just staying where you are and holding down on it until it wiggles and then clicking on the "X". Unless of course you have already mastered the concept.

They will either skip it altogether or perhaps replace all USB 2 ports with USB 3 ones (thus keeping TB as the "advanced" FW equivalent)...

Yes they have different gear ratios comparing the 2 but for MPG sorry Manuals are losing out. They can not compete with CVS, computer controlled shifting and now adding in extra gears. Those factors are just adding up against Manuals and they can not keep up. Manuals are limited to human timing which losses to computer timing. And the shifting timing is not the speed the shift is done but at what RPM are at the given load. Computers can adjust to getting best MPG at a given load demand far better than a human which means they have better MPG.
Manuals used to have a big advantage over automatics in terms of acceleration and fuel economy, especially back in the days when most automatics had only three to four forward gears and the automatic gear changes were done mostly by hydraulics.
But with the advent of modern computer controls for automatics, this has allowed for the dramatic reduction in the size of hydraulic components in an automatic. It also allowed for more forward gears, with Hyundai's very compact six-speed automatic as the latest example, which is now found on many 2011 Hyundai/Kia models and now on even entry-level Hyundai/Kia models like the upcoming 2012 model year Hyundai Accent and Kia Rio (both of which were shown publicly at the New York Auto Show today).

I wouldn't mind an iOS-type OS on an iMac as long as it had some more features of a full-fledged desktop OS. As in:
-Multiple Users
-Printing
-Some kind of file system
-More apps of a creative side (ie movie editing, word processing, programming, etc.) instead of just media consuming apps
Note: this list is not exhaustive; there are many more features I'd like that I just can't think of at the moment.
Plus, some games/apps will need to be done, specifically those that need the accelerometers. I don't think people would want to swing around a 20/30 pound computer. But that would be a good way to make more money; people keep breaking them so they'll have to pay for repairs/new ones.
Who wants to be touching a vertically standing screen all the time, that's tiring!
Maybe this is why we didn't see OS X 10.7 info because it might include support for this...
I was actually hoping to see a completely new mac Pro with new very high res screens and wireless trackpad.
I doubt 10.7 will be such an overhaul. Probably more like Mac OS X 11.0 or a totally new naming scheme.

I dont have anything to do so might just head to my apple store and view some of the boring presentations respond to some emails/forums..might even meet a looker (anyone noticed there are some attractive women in apple stores). Order some takeout and come home and lounge to MR. Then order a MacPro/MacBook Pro.....Good times.
