too bad about the lack of acd updates. i'm not ready to buy one myself, but a friend i work with was buying a new setup for herself, so I told her of the upcoming mac pro refresh and possible acds, but i just told her this morning to go ahead and head up to NH to get a tax free MP (she also gets edu because she takes a few classes every year). In good news she's buying a HP 30" monitor from IT at work for $900. She also claims that ebay has some HP 30"ers for $900 shipped, but i try to stay away from the fleabay these days. Still, it was tough to tell her to pay $800 for a 23" when she could get a 30" for $100 more. The HP is ugly, but she's a designer with a rather picky eye and she used it all day yesterday to test it and just loved the actual screen.

I suggest CocoaMySQL (http://sourceforge.net/projects/cocoamysql/) (a cocoa GUI for MySQL) for administrating your MySQL database(s).
It requires a little knowledge on how MySQL works, but that's the case for any MySQL administration (especially for security issues)...

They're good, but my 3 month old iPod has some scratches on the front now because some tiny bits of dirt must have gotten underneath the skin where it exposes the clickwheel. So now my perfect iPod has been scratched:( Also there are a couple of marks left by the screen protector.
Its good but its not pefect. The back is still mint though.
Has anyone tried the brasso thing on the front? I don't wanna do it and have to report back that it obliterated my iPod!

I think he does that in just about every keynote. Still a nice thing to do though :)

That has got to be one of the most irrelevant features I have ever heard of. If there is some sort of Multi-Function device Apple is working on, I sure hope there are more OS X integration instances than iPhoto / Google GPS syncing.
Interesting, yes. Neat, yes. Useful... not really. Apple does have a tendency to turn what we usually see as irrelevant into something we almost nearly rely on (I can't imagine a week at work without my iPod).

What you described is NOT a Panther install CD. Panther comes on 3 disks. Maya said Panther needs a FireWire 400 supported Mac. That is pretty much the requirement for it, if you have that it will install.
This is not true, Panther requires only built in USB, Tiger requires built in Firewire, you can install Panther on the original iMac.

Is that right? I've just got a replacement and it's saying a capacity of 12.1GB? I know on previous ones it's said ~14GB?

I prefer artwork of higher quality than that which iTunes automatically downloads. I recommend adding artwork manually, using sites such as Album Art Exchange (http://www.albumartexchange.com/covers.php), as well as searching with Google. Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/) is a great resource for managing your iTunes tags and files, and has a script to quickly identify which tracks lack artwork: Tracks Without Artwork to Playlist v3.3 (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=trackswithoutartwork)

A few weeks earlier, we'd gotten the news that her cancer had recurred, and we were going to see a specialist in New York. We didn't have the TV on, but my mother called and asked me if we knew what was going on. I said I didn't, and she simply said, "You'd better turn your TV on. Hey y'all. I just bought a new double din Navigation head unit for for car. One of the many media features is that it excepts a micro SD card. What I would like to be able to do is create a micro SD card from my Mac.
A micro SD card is a physical product. Your Mac is not a factory. If you mean you want to disassemble your Mac and create a micro SD card from the components I would advise you not to do that as it will significantly devalue your computer.
It will make much more economic sense to buy a new micro SD card, for which you will need a card reader that accepts rather than than excepts the format.
