I don't get it. A non-touch patent and a multi-touch patent. Does Apple know what they want?
I feel a little like watching Star Trek.
Maybe a small glimpse of the upcoming technologies, which our grandchildren will enjoy.
Very interesting!

The Thunderbolt Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbolt_(interface)) has a diagram showing the TB controller's access to things. The accompanying description ("Thunderbolt can be implemented on graphics cards, which have access to DisplayPort data and PCI express connectivity, or on the motherboard of new devices, such as the MacBook Pro.[5][17][22]") implies that a TB compatible PCIe graphics card could bring older systems up-to-date. That would be interesting.

We got them!
Well, we may pass each other back and forth a few times before we can really pull away...
Next target: 2.3 weeks away! Keep Folding!
And a little pat in the back as I just took the #8 spot on the team. Watch out this week #7! After it gets more tricky and WhiteRabbit is coming behind faaaaast...
looks like we're ahead now i think
That dang i7 is going back to normal units until I can figure out why it is so sloooooow... like a tortise...
how slow?
i engaged an octo late last week, will set up another tomorrow. they both run 24/7.
the graphic designers using them rarely require more than 1 core anyway :)
alright! nice! let us know how they are doing, and run the bigadv units if you can

I was among those that thought it was ugly, and that was an actual leaked device.
Save your breath for something a little more detailed than a mockup based on some guy's sketch.
Lol, I knew that he's lurking these boards. Very funny to even contemplate people saying the iPhone 4 was ugly, it's perhaps the most aesthectically pleasing electronic product that has ever been released to this date.

I want a way to see how much space the trash is taking up before I empty it. Is there a way? There was in OS 9 and OS 8.
It's quite simple:
$ du -hs .Trash

OS X is great, but it isn't perfect.
Despite how depressing news or rumors related to security issues with OS X are I'm in agreement that attention to this issue is always a good thing. A little humility can go a long way.

Would like to see the week and month view too before I pass my final judgement though.
Month is my most common view in my ical and sometimes, week. Seldom use day view.

Which makes it even MORE odd that it's enabled by default in MacTels, which don't run Classic.
Hmm. I'm running a 17" MacBook Pro with 10.4.8 and when I checked under both Ethernet and Airport Appletalk was not enabled. On this machine I have never set it one way or the other.

You really don't need LTE until Uncle Steve decides you do.
This is why Android phones are creeping up on iOS...they are offering more features and constant innovation in the hardware. iPhone users (and I used to be one) only enjoy hardware innovation once a year.
Maybe we will see an LTE iPhone in 2012, maybe not but I can say with all the certainty in the world that Android will have kick ass dual core LTE phones with large screens and probably something retina like in resolution by then. I wouldn't be surprised to see 12 MP cameras, 2-3 MP front cameras all running Android 2.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Unifying features? Fine. Unifying the button/slides with the iPad version. Also fine. Creating that horrible leather look on OS X (vs. the iPad where it looks ok) ... NOT FINE. Fix the look Apple, this is the worst thing on a desktop computer since brushed metal. ;)

The clause is there so that MS can lean on companies that want to buy bargain basement Windows and run multiple instances of it under Linux. They want customers to pony up for the expensive version if they want to do that at all.
At 154.99 for the basic edition on Amazon as a pre-order I wouldn't personally use the term bargain basement. Thank goodness I have no need for Windows.
On the upside it may give a boost to CrossOver Mac and mean even less money going to MS.

First to get the narrative reference gets a cookie. Also, there is no Night Watch because we didn't get 15 players.
During the massive PM telling everyone the game started, he and I were the only ones in the group. (remember it's 5 pms at a time). Hence I vote for you out of spite of me not being the only one PMd.
That doesn't mean anything. 12 divided by 5 has a remainder of 2. You and Plutonius where at the last two on the list of players.

AT&T's HSPA+ can pull down 21 MB theoretically. 4x faster than HSPA 7.2.
The theoretical never actually happen though. That's why I'd take a superior network standard with a lower frequency, and thus better building penetration, any day.

Why?
I thought AT&T's buyout means T-Mobile is going bye-bye?
When one company acquires another like that, they don't just tear down all the old company's equipment and replace it with their own. If that were the case AT&T would simply skip over the whole mess with getting the deal approved by the US Department of Justice and the FCC and just buy a crapload of equipment to put up themselves with that $39 billion.
If the deal is approved T-Mobile's assets will be integrated into AT&T's network and AT&T is probably having all their handset manufacturers run similar testing on T-Mobile equipment to ensure compatibility.
Apple is not "wasting money" on a cell phone provider that is going away, and T-Mobile is not "getting" the iPhone.
